Responsible to design and engineer details for food processing equipment for custom one-off operations as well as standardized components.

• Design and fabrication details for food process machinery
• 3D Inventor CAD Modeling utilizing clean design as it relates to food processing equipment and machine safety, translating sales layouts into functional equipment/systems
• Detail fabrication drawings with application of functional dimensioning and tolerancing as defined by ANSI standards
• Assembly drawings and Bill of Materials
• Calculations to support design requirements for rates, performance, and mechanical strength
• Engineering drawing release with material procurement support
• Customer site assessments as required to verify installation requirements
• Manage assigned tasks to meet schedule requirements
• Manufacturing shop support

‍

• Four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with 2-years experience in machine design
• Eight years experience in machine design with 3D CAD training in lieu of degree
• Two years food equipment design experience
• High proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Vault and Microsoft Office applications to support design-process
• Strong familiarization with machining and welding methods and practices
• Proven design engineering innovation to advance product designs and manufacturing efficiencies

Responsible for driving sales in every aspect of the sales cycle throughout the meat industry. Generates new business by offering solutions to new customers. Prospects and develops new client relationships within the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prospects, cultivates, and qualifies new customer opportunities and can effectively communicate a formal prospecting plan. Create market awareness through prospecting, networking, presentations, supplier relationships, and trade association meetings. Must attend a minimum of 2 industry events per year.
2. Creates and develops sales and marketing strategies and leads that result in customer meetings to establish project scope and establish long-term goals. Works with marketing to create market awareness offering through limited use of multimedia, mailings, presentations, and trade association meetings. Utilizes existing and/or creates new systems to facilitate prospecting and proposals for clients. Keeps accurate records of prospecting/client interactions.
3. Interpret and communicate DIligent’s services not limited to the production floor design, high-level plant layout design, metal fabrication, CNC machining, and custom equipment design and fabrication.
4. Reviews estimates for accuracy in product and labor. Constructs and submits professionally written proposals and delivers presentations as needed.
5. Ability to interpret and negotiate contracts for work.
6. Takes on a leadership role with select meat industry partners and supports their business development activity.
7. Establishes written formal sales goals and meets regularly with the President to gauge personal progress against said goals.
8. Acts as “our customer’s best equipment provider” at all times thereby ensuring the organization is the customer’s first choice for equipment.
9. Meets directly with customers to establish needs and drive the overall sales process.
10. Conducts customer site walk-through’s and estimates all equipment, installation, and service opportunities.
11. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Education Requirements:

• Associate’s degree or 15 years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 10 years of experience.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of ten years of previous, relevant sales, field service or project management experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following industries required:  Food Processing, Food Manufacturing, Equipment Design, and Fabrication.

Certifications & Licenses:

• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• 2 - 5 years minimum experience in welding and fabricating
• Familiarity with shop tools, equipment and procedures
• Familiarity with engineering blueprints
• Food Equipment experience a plus
• Welding certifications a plus
